Black women be killing it! And it’s so cool when a Black woman who is making moves is from your hometown. Felicia Pride is a Hollywood writer from Baltimore (we went to the same high school) and we had a fabulous chat on all things creative.
I’ll admit that I think I should be way more popping than I am but Felicia told me to enjoy and trust the process as she is living proof of God’s timing.
We had an awesome conversation that covered why there are barely Black women characters on TV (“Grace & Frankie” could totally have a Black girlfriend), living in a state of abundance and Felicia’s awesome career journey. Charles D. King’s MACRO (Fences, Mudbound) picked up her first feature film, (Really Love), she sold a television pilot and she’s a writer on Ava Duvernay’s "Queen Sugar."
